Precautions for VCR connector installation

VCR connector is a type of face sealed connector, which uses precision manufactured metal gaskets as sealing elements and has high-purity metal to metal sealing, providing leak free service in the vacuum to positive pressure range. So, do you know the precautions for installing VCR connectors? 
 

Precautions for VCR connector installation: 
 

1. After tightening the VCR connector by hand, mark the inner and outer nuts with a marker pen for easy inspection after installation. 
 

2. During installation, strictly follow the instructions of Swagelock regarding the number of installation turns, and do not overtighten for leakage, as it may cause damage to the connecting end face, resulting in leakage or reduced usage. 
 

3.When tightening the VCR connector, do not rotate the external threaded nut or body. Instead, fix the external threaded nut or body and rotate the internal threaded nut. The wrench should be turned inward to form a smaller angle to avoid sudden loosening of the joint or wrench. 
 

4. Before installing the pipe, it needs to be stressed and kept on the same axis. Adjust the appropriate angle by hand and tighten it first, then use a wrench to rotate it to the corresponding number of turns. Do not tighten it directly with a wrench, otherwise it will damage the thread. 
 

5. Do not loosen or tighten the VCR connector under pressure in the pipeline, unless it is necessary to ensure positive nitrogen pressure installation in the pipeline. 
 

6. VCR connector components (body, connecting pipe, nut, gasket, etc.) of different brand materials cannot be mixed. 
 

7. In high-purity applications, it is necessary to ensure that the surface of the VCR connector is clean, and the inner packaging plastic bag can only be opened during installation; During the installation process, it is necessary to avoid scratching the surface, especially the sealing surface of the connecting pipe. The open connecting pipe should be protected by using the built-in plastic cap. 
 

8. When reinstalling the VCR connector, a new gasket must be replaced.
